Investments are made with a 3-5 year time frame for capital growth and dividend income. We define ‘risk’ as the permanent loss of capital and not share price volatility. We do not share the common notion that large stocks carry ‘blue chip’ status which is a guarantee of safety. Our strong belief is that an intensive research process adds value and our focus is on sectors and businesses that we can understand and value.
